One of my favorite spots is Normans Cay, infamous back in the 1970s as the hub for cocaine smuggling into the states, now is the new home of Normans Beach Club (formally Mcduff's) On the east side of Normans Cay just south of The Whales Tail is a large basin that has shallow to moderate depths and a soft sandy bottom. It's protected in many areas by low lying rocks, Which keep the waves from building, but not the wind, and if that's still too challenging, further west inland is an even more protected basin and anchorage. Here lies the infamous Norman?s Cay plane wreck and the rear entrance into Normans?s Cay beach club. Which offers a great place to eat, and drink in a relaxing out island atmosphere, after a long day of Kite Boarding.
